Big purrs and commendations for Denver University.
The University of Denver has created the position of Professor of Animal Law. It is a sign of the times that there is enough activity in this area to need a professor or even lawyers who work with the legal aspects of human animal interactions.
I will let you read about all the good work Justin Marceau has done.

Can you believe it! a few years ago no one would have considered issues of animal rights and non human personhood status. We live in interesting times.

He is doing a lot of good work. Each case is a test case. Many of these ideas have never been brought before the courts. Who ever heard of a Habeas Corpus for a Chimp. Even if they don't get it, who ever heard of a court thinking about a case like that.
Things are changing and this position of Professor of Animal Law is a real sign of how far they have changed.
