The Toronto Police mounted unit has lost one of its beloved police horses. Viscount was also the longest serving horse on the force.

He served well and he will be missed. I find it beautiful that they are giving him so much respect in his passing.

Our police horses are considered to be proper police officers worthy of the respect any officer receives.
Viscount served long and faithfully and deserves to run free in pastures of ever fresh and green grass.

He was 18 years old. Is that old for a horse? I don't know their lifespan. May he RIP.

I just looked it up and generally they live 25-30 years. That varies with the breed. Some horses live longer. So Viscount was a little young, but there may be reasons. He certainly was receiving the best of care.
He will be missed.
