Animal shelter fire--all animals rescued - Catherine - 04-04-2016
There was a fire at a New Jersey animals shelter. It ripped through the building quickly and destroyed everything. The quick reaction and the work of volunteers and neighbours made it possible to save all the animals.

Now that the animals are safe they have been fostered or placed at other animal shelters. What an amazing thing that they saved them all.
Now they are already starting fund raisers to rebuild the shelter.
I wish them every success. These are amazing people.

How unfortunate that there was a fire. I'm so glad they got all the occupants out. It's good to have a story with a good ending!

Thank goodness all the animals were rescued! And that there's been such a great response to temporarily fostering them while the shelter gets back 'on its feet'.
I guess soon, they will find out what the cause of the fire was. It could have been some appliance which malfunctioned. I hope it wasn't arson, as that happened in Manchester Dogs' Home not very long ago.
I know someone who works in animal rescue in New Jersey. Although I am not certain of the name of her operation. It could be "Bear's Legacy of Love" or "Sophie's Safe House" and she doesn't actually run a shelter herself, but volunteers in co-ordinating rescues. Much as I am not really bothered with Facebook, I might go on there to check out what is happening with her. She might be helping.

I was impressed with the quick response. They had to work fast to get the animals out.
The good community response in the fostering the animals will probably carry over into the rebuilding.
In the end they will have a shiny new shelter and be back in the business of helping animals as soon as possible.
There must be a lot of groups in the area helping them. The response was very quick.
I hope they figure out the cause of the fire. It helps other shelters to prevent fires if they know what causes them.
