Humpback Whale freed - Catherine - 08-01-2016

Off the coast of Newfoundland a Humpback Whale got tangled in 3660 m of fishing gear.
The brave people from the group Whale Release and Strandings went out is a small boat and cut him free.

These are really brave dedicated people. That was not an easy rescue. Thankfully the whale was rescued and has swum off just fine after his ordeal.

I do love a happy ending and I am glad there are people out there willing to make it happen.

I can only begin to imagine how difficult that rescue must have been. Good for them, for saving him. He will know the people helped him.

It sounds like the group does rescues regularly. This is just the most dangerous one they have ever done.
I hope the whale remembers and passes the word to other whales that people do help sometimes.

It makes up for some of the whaling people do.
