Some of the oddest pets in the world - Catherine - 09-24-2016

This is an interesting collection. I guess a pet can be anything that we share our life with. The python is amazing. Sigh.
The pig is the cutest.

Actually I like the other snake that is pictured with the big python. It is a beautiful creature. I am not sure I would want to share my space with all those tigers. They are a little big and unpredictable. I definitely would not want a cobra as a pet. I have seen one and they are beautiful, but I prefer to just look at them.

Aww! That little piggy! My mother always said she'd like a piglet as a pet. I always reminded her of when it would grow up and completely take over the kitchen. She changed her mind.

No I don't think I'd like a Cobra as a pet either.....I'm a bit of a wuss, aren't I? Smiley4

Tobi, I didn't know what a wuss was, LOL! I had to search the net and found this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/learningenglish/radio/specials/1130_uptodate2/page19.shtml

No, you aren't a wuss. I wouldn't fancy that, either.

Being rather boring, I also think it is very risky of the father to allow his five year old son to sit on an alligator.

I can imagine having the camels, though! They are actually close relations of alpacas. From the article:

'We love them as if they were extra members of the family. Our local pub even has a sign that reads "dogs and camels welcome".'

I didn't notice the remark about dogs and camels welcome. Camels are cool. They just get a little big so you would need as much space as you need for an alpaca. Have you thought about getting camels?

I don't think anyone is a wuss for being wary of cobras. Remember I am wary of them and I handle reptiles all the time. A person who is afraid of a corn snake is a wuss.

I would be a little more careful of the alligator with a small child. Maybe he knows the alligator well enough to know what is safe and what is not. After all I handle Barrie the 3 ft Tegu and yet I have seen him eat and know what he can do when he is hungry.
