Of course the parrot is an African Grey. They are a very intelligent bird. They learn words quickly and they do use the voice of whoever said the words.
I would have voted guilty based on the parrots evidence.

You could trust the birds evidence. He would only be repeating what he had heard. Birds don't make things up.
