World Wildlife Day - Catherine - 03-04-2018

March 3 is World Wildlife Day. I am a little late, but it is still worth celebrating.

In honour of World Wildlife day we should celebrate species that have been brought back from extinction.

There are many more species in the world that are struggling with survival and it is our recognition and efforts that will  keep them going.  We may be responsible for the loss of many species, but now we are the guardians of many species.
Whooping cranes and Vancouver Island Marmots come to mind. We are also working to save frogs from fungal infections.
We build wildlife bridges so animals can safely cross highways. I don't know if our efforts will be enough for some species, but it is important that we keep trying.
