Whale stranding on Maui - Catherine - 09-01-2019
Ten Mellon Head Whales stranded on a beach in Maui. Sadly one died and 4 were in such bad shape they were euthanized.
The other five were returned to the water, they restranded, but eventually made it to deep water.

They do not know yet why they stranded. The bodies of the dead whales will be examined. Something is happening. Too many times we read about whales stranding themselves.
I find myself wondering if this is a cry for help from our oceans and their inhabitants. We have treated the oceans so badly that they need our help. I am glad we are responding to the emergency of beached whales. Now we need to respond to the emergency of oceans that cause whales to beach themselves.
