St Bernard Dog rescued from a mountain - Catherine - 07-29-2020

It is a strange reversal of roles. St Bernard Dogs are known for Alpine rescues. Daisy the St Bernard made it up Scafell Pike in the north west of England. When  it was time to come down daisy couldn't do it. The Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team came to her aid. The sixteen member of the team  put Daisy on a stretcher and carried her down the mountain. At 55 kilos it took 16 people to get her down safely.
At home now, Daisy is fine and back to her old self.

There is something funny about rescuing a St Bernard from a mountain. I always picture them as the brave mountain dogs who rescue lost travelers.
Daisy is brave enough, but  she just couldn't walk any further. If you look at the video you will see how dedicated the rescue team is. They carried daisy all that way and brought her home. Daisy rode that stretcher in style. I am sure she preferred it to walking one more step.
