Fighting Chance Rescue bought a 38 year old neglected and abused horse called Dan. He was seriously underweight and malnourished and at first it looked like he might not make it. The rescuers even slept in the barn at first to keep an eye on him. Even though Dan has some ongoing health issues he has started to improve.
The rescue has taken in 60 horses so far this year and all but 6 have made it. With their care Dan will be one of the ones who made it.

It is a story with a happy ending. After years of neglect and abuse Dan was being sold off. It is almost a miracle that he was bought by a rescue that would save his life and give him a happy future. He may not have many years left, but they can still be happy ones.

Oh Dan's story is very sad. To live 38 years under neglect and abuse is heartbreaking.
Thank goodness the Rescue helped him finally. I wish him happiness for whatever years he has left. Bless him.

Even if it is just a few years, it matters that Dan knows what it is to be loved and cared for. They can't change what he had, but they can make sure that what he has to come is the best time ever.
