The fire department was called out. Using a special camera they could see the cat. However the pipe was protected by 16 inches of concrete. They finally had the break up the basement floor with a jack hammer and cut the cat free. Other than a little dehydration the cat is fine. I had a cat pull up a register and go down a heating duct, two whole floors down she was stuck in the furnace duct. I had to take it apart to get her out. Why do cats crawl into tight dark places?
