Devoted Dog Dad takes his dying dog on one last hike...with a wheelbarrow - Catherine - 07-12-2021

Carlos Fresco, knowing that his dog's cancer had returned and time was short,  took his dog for one last hike up a mountain, a hike they both loved. Monty, the Labradoodle no longer had the strength to climb the mountain. So, Carlos carried him up the mountain in a wheelbarrow. People along the way offered to help and stopped to greet Monty. For Monty it was a beautiful day full of happy moments. Monty died at home peacefully a few days later after spending one last father's day with Carlos.

This is a beautiful story. What a loving thing to do. He gave his dog some loving, happy final moments. He gave himself some special cherished memories of his last days with his dog. Sometimes we don't get special time like that because a pet passes so quickly. If you do get a chance to do something special at the end of a pet's life it is a gift to both of you. Like Carlos you should cherish the gift and make the most of it.
