A trio of Porcupettes at Nashville Zoo - Catherine - 07-26-2021

Nashville Zoo has porcupine triplets also known as Porcupettes. The parents names are Jake Quillenhaal and Macaulay Quillkin. Awesome job of naming.
These are Cape Porcupines from South Africa. They are the second largest rodent species. They were being so feisty they had to be separated for feeding at first.
Now they need to be back with dad who is the parent who trains them.

They are too cute and the name porcupettes is perfect.
It must be so fun to work with little porcupines. I can see why they want to train them and have them part of education programs.
They can do a lot of good as animal ambassadors.  People are more likely to support conservation efforts if they have first had experience of the animals that need help. I hope we hear more about them in future.
