Hamsters up for adoption - Catherine - 12-13-2013

It is always sad when a good pet store closes. It is harder when they had animals that now need homes.

Good for the SPCA that they are finding homes for them. I hope they all make it home for Christmas. No animal should spend Christmas in an animal shelter.Confused

I hope they all get homes in time for Christmas. Too many animals spend Christmas in rescues. I know they don't see it the same way we do but it breaks my heart to think of it. The piggies at Glynneath are all well cared for all year round but they shouldn't be growing up in a rescue and some family is missing out on a fabulous pet.

Every pet should be home for Christmas. Even the best shelter is not a pets own home. There is something different about being permanently somewhere. A good food dish is still not your food dish. And good people are not your people.

Shelters do wonderful jobs of nurturing pets, but it is always so that someone else can give them a home. I am afraid to check the shelter web site. I will want to bring someone home for Christmas. Very likely I will bring something home for Christmas. If not, I have a full house already.
I can't take any more male guinea pigs right now. However, I only have one female guinea pig. Maybe she would like a friend or two.
