Blind student refused by restaurant because of his dog - Catherine - 05-29-2022

A blind student in the UK was refused a seat inside a restaurant because of his guide dog. He was told pets were not allowed. They refused to see that a guide dog is not a pet and must be accommodated. The student was shaken by the incident and left the restaurant.
The restaurant owner has apologized and tried to pass it off as a misunderstanding.
What it was is a violation of the law.

How are these incidents still happening. They end up in the news so no one should be ignorant of the law by now. Even if someone doesn't know the law, wouldn't they want to help a handicapped person?

A lot of these incidents seem to be in the UK, despite laws on the subject.

You are right, they are mostly in the UK. I wonder why that is.
