Some times the old ways are best and sometimes the best solutions are very simple.

I am sure we can find eco-friendly solutions to all our farming problems. We just have to stop thinking that spraying chemicals is the answer.

The ducks and the rice fields seem like a happy, healthy mix for many reasons, and a great idea!
....But when they are sold....I guess that's when they get eaten.

It is too bad that the ducks are sold as food, but the system is still a big improvement. The ducks live happy lives on the rice paddies and the rice is grown without dangerous chemicals.

I think fish can live in the rice paddies as well. The whole thing can become a thriving , self sustaining system.

Now if only we can find similar healthy solutions to our other farming problems. Could chickens take care of bugs in fields with out the need for insecticides? It would certainly be a better life for the chicken.
