Ten week old Xerxes was only alone in the back yard for minutes when Zika went in to fetch him water. When she came out he was gone.
Her video camera showed someone taking him. The police were notified, but Zika also went on social media and appealed for help. Tips started pouring in about sightings. On Monday someone saw the puppy with a couple and got a picture. In the end the police were able to track them down and get Xerxes back.
On Wednesday Zika and Xerxes were reunited.

When a whole city is looking for a stolen puppy, it is going to be found. Social media gets a lot of bad press, but sometimes it comes through.
Without everyone watching for him, Xerxes might have been lost forever. It is beautiful to see the happy reunion. Well done Winnipeg.
