Many times, animals used in movies are actually fake. They are molded figures that look real but can be used in ways live animals cannot.
The attention to detail is amazing. The people who do this work are artists in a very particular way.

I am not sure we need horror films with strange animals, but if we are going to do it, it is better that they not be real animals.
It is interesting to see how it is done. The fake elephant actually looks real, but no elephant was harmed in the making of the movie.
That is a good thing.
