The article gives advice about litter box placement, but the pictures of the place show many cat friendly furniture ideas.
Clearly the person loves her cats and has some good ideas.

The furniture creates space for the cats, so there is room for all of them. In this case, 13 cats in a small condo. They don't look like they are on top of each other.
There is personal space for everyone. I guess that is the secret, creating a variety of spaces. If we think about that with ourselves and our pets, we could make living together work better.
