Cat found in sports bag weighed 11.5 kg - Catherine - 02-24-2023
A cat being called Big Bertha was found in a sports bag. She weighs 11.5 kg and was totally matted. At her weight she could not groom herself.
Clipping the tangled mess of fur off has made her feel better. The tangled fur was pulling and hurting her. She is already losing weight and looks like a much happier cat.

Animals are not happy if we feed them until they are terrible over weight. It is a form of animal abuse to let an animal get so big.
It is not just how much she was being fed, it must also have been unhealthy food for a cat.
I am glad to see how well Big Bertha is responding to proper care. Maybe soon she will just be Bertha and not Big Bertha.
She will live longer and be happier.
