A Box of Guinea Pigs was left at farm sanctuary - Catherine - 03-10-2023
When a worker arrived at Rice Lake City Farm, she had a real surprise. There was a box by the gate. Even more surprising were the four guinea pigs inside the box.
Farm sanctuaries usually take in farm animals. Guinea pigs are pets. The piggies are being cared for until a forever home can be found for them.

The guinea pigs would have been confused and scared. I have a guinea pig who was left outside in a box 5 years ago. He is still a bit traumatized.
I hope the fact that there were 4 of them helps. They would have kept each other warm and maybe feeling a little safe. Boris was 4 weeks old and all alone.
There are good ways to rehome pets. Abandoning them in a box is not one of them.
