A bad storm brought down a number of trees. Clean up crews were cutting up downed tree trunks to clear the area. Something alerted a worker that a trunk might not be empty. They took it to a wildlife center where they X-rayed the log and found it contained four baby Screech Owls. The little birds are doing fine and will be raised by adoptive owls if possible.

It is a good thing the worker checked before cutting up the log. The little ones have a chance of survival at a wildlife center because he was careful.
They are tough little birds and they are doing very well when you think of what they have been through.
I hope they grow up and can be released to the wild to live out their lives.
