Capybara baby boom at Houston zoo - Catherine - 04-04-2023

Capybaras Poppy and Rio just welcomed a litter of five babies. This is Poppy's first litter and mom and babies are doing well.
Baby Capybaras are called pups and they can weigh 3-4 pounds at birth. They will grow up to be the largest rodents in the world.

Baby Capybaras are so cute. Even full grown, they look like giant guinea pigs. I could watch them all day.
I would love to see the first time they go swimming.  Everything about them is cute.
They are going to have a fun time at Houston Zoo this summer.
