Missing tortoise found 2 years and five miles away - Catherine - 06-21-2023
Jemima the tortoise went missing in 2021. The family searched daily and posted it on social media. Jemima has not been seen in 2 years.
Then they got word of a tortoise that was found 5 miles away from their home. It turned out to be Jemima and she is now happily back at home.

We are used to cats returning after many years. Even dogs make it home after long journeys. Two years is a long time for a tortoise to fend for itself.
Jemima is one tough tortoise. She survived two winters and managed to find food. She even walked five miles. That is a long walk for a tortoise.
It was nice that she could go home again after her adventure.
