52 endangered Vancouver Island Marmots are being released - Catherine - 06-30-2023 The Marmot Recovery Foundation released its first marmots 20 years ago when there were only 22 marmots left in the wild. Now there are 200 marmots. Clear cut logging destroyed much of their natural habitat. It has taken years to replace the trees. As the land recovers and the marmots return, life is returning to normal.
