Vancouver Island Marmots have a baby boom - Catherine - 12-25-2023
This year 59 baby marmots were born in the wild. That is an incredible increase. In 2022 only 4 marmots were born.

In 2003 there were only 30 marmots, now there are 306 marmots. The conservation efforts, especially the captive breeding programs have helped increase the numbers. Captive bred, released marmots have thrived and multiplied. The future is looking brighter for beautiful Vancouver Island Marmots.
