68 dogs rescued from an animal hoarder in Winnipeg - Catherine - 05-18-2024
Police were called to do a wellness check on someone and found 68 dogs living in horrendous conditions.
The dogs were taken in by the Winnipeg Humane Society. It is their largest intake ever. The cost of preparing them for adoption is going to be high, but the community has stepped up and 70,000 was raised in the first 24 hours. More will be needed, but hopefully there will be enough donations.
The dogs are a mess and need to be cleaned up, but they are happy and responsive to humans. They are suitable for adoption.

People are making donations. People are donating supplies, even pizza for the staff.
Hoarding situations are sad and they don't always end well, but this time the dogs are going to be fine and the community has really shown its support.
They are cute little dogs and they are going to make great pets.
