What did you name your pet and why? - Catherine - 08-17-2024

A blogger decided to ask people the question about their pet names and why they chose them. The answers are interesting.

We all name our pets and sometimes they are just ordinary names. Sometimes we have special reasons for choosing a name.

I had a baby corn snake hatch with unusual markings. They were bright orange zigzags, almost like pumpkin lightening. Yes the name pumpkin lightening stuck and Pumpkin Lightening has grown into a very beautiful snake.
I brought my budgie home from the pet store because he had a stroke and needed special care. He was unconscious and he looked like a little pickle laying there on the bottom of the cage and he was in a bit of a pickle. Five years later, Pickle is doing very well and made a good recovery. Once I called him pickle the name stuck and it does suit him. He is green.

So what names did you choose and why.

I adopted my cat Edward from a local cat rescue he already had the name Edward so I kept it,same with my last cat Bessie I got her from a neighbour that didn't want her any more so I didn't see the need to change her name.

I usually don't change the name of a pet I am rescuing.
I did it with Jake Krinkle Snake because the guy called him Lucifer. Jake deserved a better name than that. Jake suited him so well and he was a krinkled snake.
Edward is a good name and it suits him very well.
