Monkey Species calls each other by name - Catherine - 08-31-2024 A monkey species called Marmocets call each other by name. They have set sounds they use to connect with each individual of their species. This is a surprise to those studying them. Very few animals do that. Right now we only know about Dolphins, elephants and humans who do this. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/science/marmoset-monkey-animals-names-use-b2602338.html I am betting other primate species use names. We just haven't figured it out yet. I am sure parrot species like African Greys use names. They call us by name. What do you think, do cats and dogs use names? Do they have names for us? Would we like the names they use for us. RE: Monkey Species calls each other by name - LPC - 10-04-2024 Yet another example of humans being surprised that animals are much more intelligent than previously supposed! RE: Monkey Species calls each other by name - Catherine - 10-05-2024 I think earth worms are more intelligent than we previously thought. It is only humans that surprise us by how little they know. |
