Fish rescued from garden pond after he grows a lot - Catherine - 01-19-2025

Twenty five years ago a Diamond Back Sturgeon was put in a garden pond. The pond was eleven feet by ten feet and Stanly was six inches long.
Stanly is now almost six feet long. The family called a Koi rescue company. Koi are Japanese carp and they can grow much bigger than expected.
Certainly Stanly was bigger than they expected. The company didn't have a container big enough to transport him. They had to build something just for him.
Stanly now lives in a much bigger pond at a private manor house.

Fish can grow much larger than we expect. Some fish keep growing their whole lives and they have long lives. That is why a Koi rescue company exists.
Goldfish can keep growing as well. Who knows how big Stanly will get or how long he will live. I am just glad they did the responsible, caring thing to find Stanly a new larger home.
