Bald eagles hatch out two chicks - Catherine - 03-07-2025

Jackie and Shadow are much watched Bald Eagles. It has been 3 years since they had a successful hatching. At last, two chicks have hatched.
The third eggs might still hatch.

A hatching is always good news. A Bald Eagle is really good news.
It is nice to know that after unsuccessful years, Jackie and Shadow have eaglets to raise.

The third chick has hatched!

Jackie and Shadow really beat the odds. Usually the hatch rate is 50%. They hit 100% hatch rate with all three eggs hatching.
Now we wish them all the best in raising the baby eagles.

Sadly one of the hicks has died. There were severe storms in the area and it was too much for them all to make it.

At least there are still two baby eagles in the nest.
