The seven largest reptiles in the world - Catherine - 04-01-2025

TheseĀ  reptiles are really big. When you measure and animals length in meters, you know it is big.
Of course the two biggest are crocodiles, the saltwater Crocodile and the Nile Crocodile.
The next two are snakes, the green Anaconda ad the reticulated Python.
The Leatherback Sea Turtle is 8 feet and 2000 pounds.
The Komodo Dragon is 10 feet and 150 pounds.
The Aldabra Giant Tortoise at 4 feet, 550 pounds just doesn't seem so giant in comparison.

They are definitely bigger than we are and some of them live longer.
They also play vital roles in their ecosystems. As major predators they can regulate their ecosystems and they can be active in seed dispersal.
They are not just physically big, they are a big presence in their native habitats. Let us hope that they can continue in that role in years to come.
