Snails like Ned are unique. Most of his species spirals to the right. Ned spirals to the left. This happens once in 40,000 snails.
The only snail that Ned can mate with is a another left spiraled snail. New Zealand has launched a campaign to find a left spiraled snail for Ned.
They are asking people to look at their garden snails. If they see a leftie, get in contact.

This happened in England in 2017. Two left spiraled snails were found for Jeremy.
Who knows, maybe Ned will be lucky too. Even if no other leftie snail is found, the campaign hopes to get people outside connecting with nature.
Searching the garden for a left spiraled snail is a start. After the snail search hopefully people will stay connected to nature.
