No caws for alarm from crows with Avian Pox - Catherine - 09-13-2025 A number of cases of Avian Pox have been observed in crows in the Victoria area. This is something that occurs every year. It looks bad, but mostly the birds recover on their own. Most of the infected crows can't be rescued because they are well enough to recover without help and they are well enough that they can't be caught. People who regularly observe the birds do not think there are not more cases than usual. https://www.vicnews.com/local-news/no-caws-for-alarm-crusty-faced-crows-have-victoria-wildlife-fans-flapping-8243423 This is one I have never heard of and I have never seen it. It must not be common everywhere. The poor crows do look very sad and very strange. I am glad to hear they all recover. |
