Our pets are smarter than we think - Catherine - 09-22-2025 This is a series of stories about pets showing just how smart they are. They are way smarter than we think. https://www.buzzfeed.com/hannahdobro/smart-pet-stories-will-melt-your-heart Lots of pets are clever enough to open doors. It takes a really smart pet to close the door after themselves. Looking at things to tell us they want them is clever enough. My old guinea pig does that for his water dish. When he wants it changed he looks at it and then looks at me. I change it right away. Apparently I am easy to train. My favourite is my friend's Iguana who pulls on my pant leg when she wants me to get her fresh water. She is so cute about it. When she wants vegetables she walks right up to the frig. Our pets are definitely smarter than we realize. RE: Our pets are smarter than we think - johnsmith056 - 10-24-2025 Yes some animals are smart but we can say that its the training of their owner RE: Our pets are smarter than we think - Aussienan - 10-25-2025 My daughters tuxedo cat Eddie hates closed doors of any kind, she put hair ties around the pantry door handles took him awhile put he worked out how to get the ties off, never underestimate a determined pet. RE: Our pets are smarter than we think - Catherine - 10-25-2025 Eddie sounds pretty clever. Cats can be good with doors. He wanted the door open so he found a way to do it. It is more than just training. Some animals are smart. Parrots are very smart. Even goldfish canĀ be clever. |
