Cold weather hits Florida and it is raining Iguanas - Catherine - 11-09-2025

Florida is having a bit of a cold spell. Iguanas who are not actually native to Florida, go into cold shock and fall out of trees.
They are so cold their metabolisms slow down. When they fall they just lie where they fall.

Every year this happens. The cold is very hard on Iguanas. They really don't belong in Florida. As soon as the cold hits, the lizards start falling out of trees.
I wish they would think to rescue them and return them to a warmer climate. They are an invasive species through no fault of their actions.
Everyone would be happier if the Iguanas could go home.
