Tour group sees large Sea Otter raft in Tofino - Catherine - 11-23-2025

Sea Otters come together in groups called a raft. They float on the surface like a raft. Grouping like that makes life safer and easier for them.
A whale watching tour got to see a raft of almost 100 otters. This is encouraging since Sea Otter numbers were reduced by the fur trade and they
are not back to their original levels.

What an amazing sight. They were really lucky to be in the right place at the right time. I don't know who named a group of Sea Otters a raft, but they sure got it right.
