Eight people arrested for beating a Capybara - Catherine - 03-24-2026
Eight people attacked and beat a capybara with sticks and iron bars.The incident was captured on CCTV footage and they have been identified and arrested.
The Capybara has injuries, but he is being cared for at the Wildlife care Center.
He should recover.

They essentially beat a giant guinea pig. Capybaras are gentle creatures. They hurt no one. They munch on vegetation all day.
I cannot imagine why or what kind of people could do such a thing. I don't know what the penalty can be, but they deserve the worst the law can do and more.
I hope the capybara makes a full recovery.
