Injured Pelican knocks on door at the National Marine Fisheries Service. - Catherine - 09-21-2026
A Pelican knocked on the door at the National Marine Fisheries Service. He was clearly injured and the staff there knew how to help him.
He was tangled in fish line with a hook in his foot. They quickly cut him free and released him. He happily flew away.

It is amazing how often animals come to us for help.
They just seem to know we can help and we will help.
The really remarkable thing is what door he chose to knock on.
These were the people who would know how to help him.
That was one smart bird.
