125 Dolphins stranded off of Cape Cod

One June 29, 2024, 125 Dolphins became stranded on the mud flats of Herring River. It is a tricky area for strandings. 
Word went out to IFAW that 10 dolphins were stranded, but when they arrived there were 125. Sadly 10 of the dolphins had already died.
They provided supportive care until the tide returned and then they encouraged them to return to deeper waters.

That was an incredible rescue. Many people took part and worked for long hours. Most of the dolphins survived and returned to the deeper ocean waters.
You have to admire the people who turned out to help in the rescue. There were 150 people involved, 100 of them were volunteers.
IFAW is an amazing group. They are there when animals are in need all around the world.
