Prison trades its guard dogs for geese
#1
Fifteen years ago s prison traded its guard dogs for a flock of geese. The dogs require training and a lot of care.
The geese do the job by just acting like geese. They live between the prison fences and are happy to wander around eating grass. If anything got into that area, they would make a lot of noise. They are alert and will react 24/7. If someone tried a prison break the geese would react right away.

We under estimate geese. They are tough birds. I wouldn't argue with a Canada goose. They can be fierce.
This is a matter of using natural animal traits to meet our needs. This is like deploying goats to clear weeds. The animals are just doing what comes naturally to them. They have good lives while doing something that needs doing.
I am thinking we could deploy geese in more security situations.

I bet geese could handle unruly soccer fans.
