Frog saunas, a solution to fungus deaths
#1
Frogs have been dying of the Chytrid fungus in alarming numbers globally. Some species are close to extinction. One solution has been to bring whole populations in from the wild to treat them. What we haven't had is a way to treat the frogs in  the wild so they can recover.
The latest idea is frog saunas, places where the frogs can warm up. This seems to allow them to fight off the fungus themselves. Afterwards they seem to have resistance to the fungus.

This is the first idea to actually show promise. The frogs are recovering and showing an ability to stay well. It might take some effort to create enough saunas to make a difference, but it can't be harder than bringing a whole species in from the wild. It is a more permanent solution if it leaves the frogs able to fight off the fungus in future. Ideas like this give us hope for the future of frogs.
