The Turtle Protectors are very active in their work with turtles. So far this year 200 volunteers have spent 4,000 hours watching 105 nests, 1,000 hatchlings in 10 Toronto parks. They monitor the mothers as they are laying their eggs. The watch over the nests and protect them. They assist the hatchlings to make sure they make it to the ponds alive.

The group has made a very big difference in the turtle survival rate.
All of the turtle species involved are endangered so they need the help.
Turtles everywhere need help. Fortunately there are people in many places who give their time to help turtles survive.
Just watching over turtle nests and protecting them gives them a chance to hatch.
We are one of the reasons turtles are endangered, so it is beautiful that there are people dedicated to protecting them.
