Couple in animal abuse/hoarding case gets serious jail time

A couple in Bedford County, Pa had 90 dogs and cats living in terrible conditions. After their rescue some of the animals had to be euthanized.
It was one of the worse abuse cases the county had ever seen. They were supposed to go to a jury trial, but they entered no contest pleas to the charges.
The judge sentenced them to serve between 90 days and 40 years in state prison.

 Even if they don't serve the full 40 years, that is what they were sentenced.
That is a long  sentence. Animal abusers might stop and think about what they are doing if they knew there was a risk of a 40 year sentence.
