Conservation efforts save Green Sea Turtles
#1
Green Sea Turtles were in serious trouble in the 1970s. Since then efforts have been made to save them.
Nesting sites have been protected. Fishing gear has been modified so turtles are not killed by fishing nets.
Turtle poaching has been reduced. So their numbers have increased, but not everywhere. Other species of sea turtles have not recovered
in the same way.

We can be cautiously happy about the Green Sea Turtle recovery, but we still need to be concerned about other species at risk.
We also can't be to complacent about Green Sea Turtles. There are still things that could go wrong.
At least we know that our conservation efforts are worth it. We just need to keep up our efforts and do more.
