Winnipeg just recently passed bylaws in favor of bird friendly window treatments.
There are ways to prevent birds from hitting windows. Millions of birds are killed each year, especially migrating birds.
If windows are treated with coatings, glazes, patterns or decals, birds are less likely to fly into them. A significant number of birds are saved.
Good for Winnipeg that it passed a bird friendly bylaw.
However, now Winnipeg wants to cancel that bylaw. So, bad for Winnipeg. I am very disappointed in my home town.

There are ways to protect birds from our windows. It is horrible that how we build things causes millions of bird deaths every year.
A number of cities have adopted bylaws to protect birds.
Shame on Winnipeg for even considering backing down from protecting birds.
