World Turtle day...let's shellebrate

May 23, is world turtle day. American Tortoise Rescue created the day to make people more aware of turtles and tortoises. It has been celebrated of May 23 ever since. The theme this year is let's party.

However you celebrated the day, it is good to think about how long turtles have been on this planet. It is also good to be aware of the differences between tortoises and turtles. Someday you might need to know this. If you are rescuing tortoises or turtles it makes a difference in the kind of care you give them.
They require very different habitats. We need to protect all those habitats and protect the turtle that belongs in that habitat.
