Rare male tortoiseshell cat found at animal shelter.
#1
The little kitten dropped off at the animal shelter was a tortoiseshell so she was given a female name. The truth wasn't discovered until it came time to spay her, or rather neuter him. Yes Cindi is a male. So likely Cindi does have two X chromosomes, which would account for the colouring. Cindi also has a Y chromosome that accounts for him being male. Cindi is now called Cinder and has found a loving home.

This is very rare. Having an extra chromosome is unusual. It is a cute little kitten and they would never have noticed if they had not tried to spay him. This is the first male tortoiseshell cat I have ever heard of.
