Parachutes for Pets opening a new site

Parachutes for Pets is a Calgary based animal welfare organization. They are more than a rescue. They are a pet food bank. They offer education programs.
They also offer emergency, temporary housing for pets. Temporary housing is a newer idea that fills an important need. If a person is sick, hospitalized, evicted or just can't care for their pet, Parachutes for Pets will care for them temporarily. They don't have to surrender their pet.

Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society has to close  its Edmonton location. They will continue to operate in Calgary and will transfer rescues to their Calgary site.
Parachutes for pets is taking over their Edmonton location.
Both groups work well together and Parachutes for Pets can help with any adoptable cats that are still at the Edmonton location.

I think it is beautiful that rescue groups work together to help each other.
It is also great that animal welfare groups are responding to the needs of people right now.
Pet food banks are really needed right now. Many people could not keep their pets without that help.
There seems to be more need for education programs and animal welfare groups are responding.
The most desperate need is for temporary care. There are lots of reasons why a person needs to have their pet looked after temporarily.
If you lose your home, you need somewhere for your pet to live while you find a new place. If you need surgery or rehab, it will go better if you know your pet is cared for and will come back to you. It is a recognition or how important our pets are to us. I think it recognizes how important we are to our pets. 
We want then back and they want to come back to us.
Opening a new Parachutes for Pets location will help more pet owners and pets  stay together.
