Rare butterfly spotted for the first time in over a century
#1
A Zebra Swallowtail was spotted for the first time in over a century in Toronto's High Park.

The species still lives! It may be rare and endangered, but it is still out there. If there is one there must be more.
We need to get busy and plant their host plant. If we want them to thrive we have to help them.

I don't think I have ever seen these trees. I will have to check the native plant sales next spring.

I do know I will be watching for the Zebra swallowtail from now on. In fact, tomorrow I will be eating lunch on a bench on the east end of High Park.
It is unlikely, but I could see the butterfly. It would be pretty exciting. I am happy just knowing they are out there.
